Topic: Neutrino Oscillations and the
MSW Effect
Lecturer: Mikheev P. Stanislav
Neutrino masses and mixing must result in
oscillations, which are the periodical transformations of an initial type of
neutrinos into another one and back. In general case, the picture of neutrino
oscillations depends on the properties of the medium, in which neutrinos are
propagating. If a neutrino goes through matter with a varying density, a few new
resonant phenomena take place (MSW effect).
