14th Course: "Neutrinos and Explosive Events in the Universe"
A NATO Advanced Study Institute
2-13 July 2004
Ettore Majorana Centre
Erice, Sicily, Italy
Topic: UHECR Observational Results and Next Generation
Projects
Lecturer: M. Teshima
In this lecture, the observational results on Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays (UHECRs)
are discussed. Especially the energy spectrum and the arrival direction
distribution of UHECRs are important measures to understand the origin of UHECRs.
The energy determination methods and their systematic errors in ground arrays
and air fluorescence detector techniques will be discussed in detail.
New generation projects Auger, Telescope Array and EUSO will be also discussed.
