First we explain the significance of Einstein's GR equations, and their description of the whole Universe as a thermodynamic system (Cosmology). Then we show the need for both dark matter and dark energy to understand astrophysical/cosmological data, such as the radial-velocity curves of galactic halos, Supernova-Ia luminosities, the two-dimensional CMB (cosmic microwave background) spectrum, and the three-dimensional BAO (baryon acoustic oscillation) spectrum. Next, the dark matter and dark energy components are fitted into the Einstein equations to demonstrate the theoretical consistency of dark physics. Finally, remarks will be made on various proposed candidates for dark physics.
